Skin Secrets - My guide to glowing skin

Good makeup starts with good skin, and i'm a firm believer of tackling the basics
before moving onto skincare products and anything else.

DRINK DRINK DRINK! I can not stress enough how important it is to drink water, I get it, to some
its bland and boring, but you can shake it up a little by adding your favourite fresh fruits or even some cucumber or lemon. Water flushes out all the toxins our body doesn't need, so if you want that glowing skin...girl you better drink up!

Exercise be it a little or a lot, do something to get that blood circulation going. I recently started running everyday and noticed a huge difference in how my complexion looked, alongside chugging as much water as I could.

Moisturise moisturise moisturise! One thing my mother always drilled into my head was to always moisturise no matter what. I've always thought of my skin like the soil of a plant, if its not surged with moisture then it will become dry, and dry soil definitely has cracks in it, which I translate as wrinkles and nobody has time for that!

Be it a high end or drugstore product, never let your skin dry out!

Its super easy to get caught up in a lavish skincare routine, but truth be told after applying 3-4 products on your skin, you will begin to cancel out the benefits of anything more, and you will essentially just be diluting products applied. I'm a firm believer of keeping things basic so that you can reap the benefits of all your favourite products.

Of an evening I tend to wipe away as much makeup as I can with a makeup wipe, my favourites are the Nivea Micella wipes. I follow this up with a cleanse, then I apply THIS must have holy grail! and then my night serum and eye cream. If I want more of an intense treatment I'll skip the serum and go wild on moisture in the morning.
Do bare in mind that I will only use liquid gold 2-3 times a week, so my basic routine consists of wipe, cleanse , serum. and eye cream.

The morning is pretty basic too, I lightly cleanse, then ill whack on my favourite face cream but ill only massage it in 90%, letting my skin drink the rest, then I'll pat on my favourite eye cream.

In between my basic routine ill exfoliate if needed, and ill use my favourite face mask.

There are some things you just can't do at home when it comes to skincare, so from time to time I branch out and seek salon help.

The first treatment I can not get enough of is:
The collogen boost lipofirm facial
Available at Tips n Toes Ricksmansworth
Tel - 01923 371 283

This treatment is the next best thing to a face lift, since posting images of my face half lifted by the treatment on social media, you guys went wild for it. It tightens skin, stimulates collogen reproduction and evens your skin tone.

I get this done weekly and my cheekbones now pop into 2020!

The second treatment is:
The brightening peel
Available at the Peel boutique
Cost £75
Contact -

A non toxic lactic acid skin peel that will leave your skin glowing to the gods. This peel naturally exfoliates the skin and encourages cell renewal. There is no down time, and you will be blown away by results, especially the next day.

So there you have it, my skincare secrets. My routine doesn't really change, if its not broken I don't believe it needs fixing.

I hope this answers all of your questions, if you have anymore feel free to leave them below.

  1. Hi michelle, do you switch to different products depending on the seasons or keep it the same throughout the year?
